Starting his media career in 1995, Daniel Thomas has a wealth of
experience in both Radio and Television.
He began working in the Television Industry for a Melbourne-Based
Video Production Company as a cameraman/editor and has worked on
many projects for some of Australia’s largest corporations. Over
the years, Daniel expanded his experience into Graphic Design, Producing
and Directing for Television and also writing commercials.
His radio career began in 1997, but his passion to learn more led
to him talking his way into working TTFM in Melbourne (Now Mix 101.1) producing
Late Nights in 1999, carting, Commercial Production, in 2000 pushing buttons for the Richard Stubbs Morning Show, and eventually, a regular
shift on air. In 2001, he spent 3 months on the slopes and airwaves
of Mt Buller in the Victorian Snow Fields, then on-air in the drive-time slot "Without his Pants" on Community Broadcaster 89.9 HitzFM for their final Test Broadcast... and after persistence
and patience, he was back in the metro radio scene at Melbourne’s
101.9 Fox FM until the end of 2002. In 2003, he made the move to the Sunshine State and became the Creative Writer / Director and Announcer at river 94.9 FM, in Ipswich QLD.
In 1999, Daniel started to DJ private functions for close friends
and family, and scored the occasional gig here and there... but
it wasn't until 2003 that he was given his first chance. Becoming
a regular DJ at the Ipswich Jets, he was then offered the role as
main DJ for the local radio station listener parties in 2004. He
also spent time alongside Pete
Smith, a master in his own right and one of the finest DJ's
this country has seen. Daniel and Pete have not only worked together
as DJ's, but Daniel also produced commercials
for Ministry of Sound Sessions, and Pete is renowned for mixing
the best tunes around, producing the weekly 2 Hour radio program,
which is broadcast to over 70 markets Australia Wide, and hosted
by Goodwill.
Daniel has worked in radio as a Creative Writer/Director, Announcer,
Voice Over Artist, and more recently, a Sound Engineer at one of
Brisbane’s legendary recording studios.
In 2006, he launched back into the Television Industry running the Brisbane division
of VideoVision
Communications.
